Unfortunately, I am only able to do a limited amount of sessions per week as I work full-time in a busy newsroom. 

 

I prefer to do my sessions online without video (e.g. an audio call) as it's more productive and less distracting for both parties.

45 min Solutions session - "I have an idea, but what now?"​

  • Conducted online - audio only 

  • Feedback on story ideas or pitches

  • Useful if you need quick feedback for a specific story idea, want to know how to pitch it to editors, want guidance on how to turn an idea into multiple stories, or general advice on what to do next with an idea

  • This is a question and answer session so I won't be reviewing any work, copyediting or reading over any written stories

  • Ask me about pitching, interviewing, researching/reporting, writing, working with editors etc 

  • It's best if your stories or ideas for these sessions are topical but not too time-sensitive

60 min Writing feedback session - "I've written it, but what now?"

  • Conducted online - audio only 

  • Feedback on a story idea, pitch or feature where you can send me up to 3 documents to review (up to 1,000 words each. If it's longer than that, you will need to edit it down or just send over the first 1,000 words)

  • Useful if you've got something written down and need someone to look over it to give you constructive feedback. 

  • I won't be copyediting your work but I can give you an idea of how to better shape the narrative of your story, what elements you're missing, or what editors are looking for in a story or op-ed/column before you pitch it to them

  • It's best if your stories or ideas for these sessions are topical but not too time-sensitive

75 min Writing feedback session 

  • Conducted online - audio only 

  • Same as above but we will have more time to go through what you have submitted​

Bespoke session(s) 

  • If you need something a bit more bespoke, fill out the form below with your requirements and I will assess if I have the capacity to take on the task​
